Collection: Cantlop & the Cound Brook
The Cound Brook is a tributary of the River Severn. Rising in the Stretton Hills, it runs under Cantlop Bridge (Thomas Telford in 1718), through to Cantlop Mill, Eaton Mascott and then Cound. Cantlop is on the left bank opposite Berrington, it is described as a settlement. The fields, which are mainly arable with some crops grown to feed a milking herd, have ancient field names.
